Location Status:
Three story, four bedroom Colonial home built in 1830 with a full basement. There is an opening for an old tunnel that was part of the Underground Railroad located in the basement.  The home is occupied by one adult male, one adult female, two young adult daughters, a male teenager and the family dog.

Reported Activity:
The clients report that they have owned the house for over 15 months but just moved in over 3 months ago. The clients report that the activity is sporadic and happens all times of the day and night.  The clients have reported hearing footsteps, male and female voices, the sound of doors opening and closing and more. The family has heard growling noises and has had the lights stop working for no reasons and then begin to work again. The client’s son was somehow locked in a bathroom for over an hour while he heard footsteps throughout the house with no one home. Neighbors have reported seeing figures moving around inside the house when no one was home. Inside and exterior doors have been found opened or closed by themselves. The family hears what sounds like a barbell or something else rolling across the floor on the third floor. By having an investigation, the family hopes to find out who is in the home and get rid of anything that may be negative or identify anyone who is nice and willing to co-exist.

AUDIO ANALYSIS:
VR1 - Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in basement
VR2 - Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in the second floor son’s bedroom
VR3 - Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in the second floor master bedroom
VR4 - Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in dining room – This device captured several knocks that were coming from the dining room or kitchen area of the home. Theses knocks were high above the normal house noises from expansion or contraction that is normally heard in a building.

VR5 - Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in the third floor daughter’s bedroom with refinished cabinet – This device recorded what sounded like a heavy object being drug across the floor in the room. Investigators were present at the time and reacted to the sound along with feeling a vibration of the floor. The dragging sounds starts at 5 secs into the clips and is better heard with earphones.

EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field):
Standard baseline readings were taken throughout the home with expected spikes near electrical appliances.  Elevated readings were measured throughout the home to varying degrees in almost every room. One anomalous EMF spike was measured in the hole under the metal door where the underground tunnel was located of a 4.3mg for several seconds. The source could not be found and the field did not reappear. Prior and subsequent monitoring showed no additional EMF spikes. The amount of elevated EMF’S in the home could be a contributing factor to the amount of experiences that the family is reporting. Constant and elevated EMF’S have been correlated with locations that report a high volume of physical activity acting almost like a magnifier of the activity.

Investigator Feelings / Personal Experiences:
Mark/Virginia:  While present in the third floor daughter’s bedroom with the large refurbished cabinet, Virginia, Mark and two guests from ION TV experienced what sounded like a heavy object being drug across the floor. At the time the noise was heard, all present felt the floor vibrate. The sound was captured on audio in that location but there is no movement on any DVR cameras.

Nicole/John:  While present in the basement, Nicole and John heard several sounds coming from the first floor where no one was present. The sounds were similar to the kitchen cabinets slamming shut. The sounds were captured on audio in that location but there is no movement on any DVR cameras.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular date, investigators did experience some of the unexplained knocks and bangs that the clients were reporting. Most of the noises were occurring on different floors than where investigators were at the time.  Additionally, a motion light placed in the basement was intermittently going off about two hours into the investigation and then stopped while investigators were in the room.  Upon investigators leaving the room, the light would then go off again. A loud dragging noise was heard in a third floor bedroom with investigators present along with a physical sensation of the floor vibrating. This sound is similar to what the clients reported hearing on that floor. No cause could be found and no movement was observed at the time of occurrence. Investigators could not rule out many of the reported experiences, such as the bathroom door being locked and unable to open and several of the doors coming open and closing by themselves. Investigators did find elevated EMF levels throughout the house with a higher level in the basement along the ceiling where wiring is located.  These levels could cause sensations such as the feeling of being watched or as if someone is standing by you. This should be taken into account while in these areas.  To complicate matters, elevated fields are also believed to magnify activity if it is present making an initial evaluation difficult. Based on a physical investigation, it would appear that there is some level of paranormal activity greater than the average household taking place at this location. To make a definitive determination that a haunting was taking place based strictly on physical documentation, further time would need to be spent at this location.

Metaphysically, Psychic Mediums Virginia Centrillo was able to provide information that several spirits were occupying this space causing much of the activity that the clients were reporting. Because of the history of the property, Virginia felt that there was a combination of active spirits in the home and some residual energy causing some of the noises that were being heard. Virginia was able to validate that the experiences the investigators were having were indeed caused by spirits, such as indicating that an energy shift had  occurred just prior to hearing the dragging noise on the third floor and seeing an energy move towards the motion light in the basement on our DVR monitor just prior to it activating. Virginia believes that she was able to release several spirits in the home with the exception of two prior homeowners who were a big part of protecting the people moving through the Underground Railroad who felt they needed to stay a bit longer to keep their space safe. Virginia feels that they will move on but at their own pace now that two spirits in that area were released. The family may witness some activity from these two energies from time to time but they are not harmful and they are protective of the property.

Virginia provided information to the clients on keeping positive energy up in the home and how to deal with other related issues.
