Location:  Troy, PA -  Bradford County

Investigation Date and Duration:
May 5, 2013    7:10 PM – 1:00 AM

Location Status:
Two story, Pre-Victorian, brick Italian house built in 1860 and a two story barn/garage behind the home.  The home is occupied by one female adult, one male adult and their two adult daughters. They have one dog and four cats living with them in the home. At least one person has died in the home and because of the age and status of the house, funerals were once held here.

Reported Activity:
Since the clients moved in nearly four years ago, they have experienced visions, heavy smells like perfume and cigar smoke, doors closing, lights going out, the sound of heavy breathing, being touched, objects being moved, cabinet doors opening by themselves and people taking falls on stairs, by the garden and in the barn. The clients have also reported bad luck falling on the family since they moved in.  By having an investigation, the clients hope to get validation that there is a haunting taking place and some understanding of what may be causing it.

Virginia:  Refer to Psychic Impressions

Psychic Impressions:
During the initial walk-through of the home, Virginia picked up the name “Skinner”.  Virginia also picked up on an “O” name that she felt was associated with Skinner.  Virginia did not feel that Skinner was trapped or Earthbound in any way.  Virginia also picked up a female spirit who did not stay long but just came by to say hello and to thank the clients for taking care of her home.  Virginia felt this was the lady of the house and the clients provided the name Mary. Virginia also picked up that at one time the property was an apple farm, which was confirmed by the clients.

During the investigation, Virginia received the following impressions:
Dining room:
Virginia picked up a female spirit named “Margret” who proudly told Virginia that she was laid out at the Victory Funeral Home.

Upstairs hall: Virginia felt that there was a female spirit roaming the home named “Bette” who is very attached to the client.  When the clients left, just prior to the start of the physical investigation, Bette was calling for them by name. Virginia felt that Bette wants to stay in the home.  Bette told Virginia loud and clear, that she will leave when she is good and ready.  Virginia felt that Bette was harmless to the clients.

Upstairs front hall: Virginia picked up on a very sad lady name “Jane”.  Jane walked back and forth by the front stairs looking for her son, “William” who, Virginia believes, was in the Civil War.

Virginia felt that, because she was there, many spirits from the past who were associated with the home, came by to say hello. The names Virginia picked up that were just associated with the home but not considered haunting the home included: Hyman, Case, Seymour, Henry, George, Charles, Van Dyke and a Civil War soldier.  Virginia also felt that there were two children that had passed in the home.  Virginia had also picked up that one of the previous owners of the home was involved in law and there was a doctor involved with the home as well.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular date, investigators were not able to document any physical activity occurring at this residence to validate a haunting nor could investigators rule one out by physical evidence.  Investigators were, however, able to come up with a reasonable alternate explanation for the cabinet doors opening in the dining room.  By means of a geophone, investigators were able to see that heavy truck traffic passing by the front of the house caused considerable vibration of the property as they passed.  Those vibrations, along with the declined pitch of the cabinet from unleveled flooring in that area, may be enough force to cause the cabinet doors to open.  When this occurs, the clients should consider the truck traffic in front of the house to see if they can correlate the traffic passing with the event.

From a metaphysical perspective, Psychic Medium Virginia Centrillo feels that there are many echoes of the past moving through and around the home.  Virginia picked up a true sense of community within this home and she felt that these spirits still visit from time to time and are willing to share their stories with anyone who will listen. All in all, Virginia feels the home is full of love and happiness. Virginia feels that the spirit of the woman named “Bette”, that she picked up during the investigation, would move on at her own pace but was not harmful being in the home at this time.  Bette understood that she had the option of moving on but was not quite ready to do so.  Virginia was able to help release the spirit of the woman named Jane who was stuck there looking for her son.

After conversation with the clients, they related that they were comfortable with having any remaining spirits in the home stay there if they so choose to.  The clients stated they did not feel that there was anything harmful there.  Virginia provided information to the clients on how to keep positive energies up in their home.
