Location Status:
Two story, three bedroom farm house with a full attic and an unfinished basement built in 1906.  The home is occupied by one female adult and her two teenage children, a 19 year old son and 13 year old daughter. They have three dogs and three cats living with them inside the home.

Reported Activity:
Since the clients moved in six months ago, they have heard voices, humming, growling, loud bangs and footsteps. They have observed apparitions, have had things move on their own, smelled perfume, have seen a black mist and the kids have seen "something” looking in the window. The kids have seen the same “thing" run across the hallway and disappear through a shut bathroom door. The family has seen "balls" of light that travel across the room and disappear. The mother has been locked in the basement, has had marks on her back and has been pushed by an unseen force. Her son has had nightmares after seeing something in his room and calling out his name. The son hears scratching and clawing at the walls in his room and feels like he is being watched. The family dogs will sometimes not go outside to go to the bathroom. They step outside the door and then drag the clients back into the house. The dogs follow the clients everywhere in the house and don't seem comfortable being left alone in any particular room by themselves. The clients report that the dogs will sometimes bark and growl at nothing.  By having an investigation, the clients are hoping to get answers to what is going on and want to stop the activity so they are not afraid to be in their own house.

EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field):
Standard baseline readings were taken throughout the home with expected spikes near electrical appliances.  A notable, anomalous EMF spike was encountered during the investigation in the son’s bedroom during an “EVP Session” period of questioning. The EMF spikes could not be attributed to any known cause but was not consistent enough to make a determination if it was normal or paranormal. The timing of the spike with the content of the question was something of interest however. Refer to personal experiences of Stan and Don below for additional information.

Investigator Feelings / Personal Experiences:
Mark:  When Mark walked into the basement for the first time, he reported feeling very uncomfortable and felt like something bad had happened there at one time.

Stan and Don: While investigating in the basement, Don and Stan started to ask questions and a RemPod that was present began to react. The RemPod continued to go off at different times during their time in the basement and intermittently during the rest of the night. Along with the RemPod activity, Stan reported that an initial sweep of the basement indicated a steady 0.0 EMF baseline but at one point, Stan asked if someone could come close to a Melmeter and raise the numbers. The readings started to go up slowly to 0.7mg and then returned to 0.0mg but never changed again. Later in the front, left bedroom (son’s room), Stan and Don had some reaction on a K2 meter. After setting it on the dresser in that room, they asked a few general questions with no response. When Don started inquiring about someone being assaulted and abused in that room, they got a full bar of light (maximum reading) on the meter. Other questions had no response and no additional K2 activity was noted during the investigation.

Psychic Impressions:
Outside: When Virginia first arrived at the home, she notice that there was a male spirit standing and staring at her from an upstairs front bedroom window. She also picked up on an abundance of American Indians moving through the area. 

As Virginia entered the home, the same male spirit, named “Eric”, was trying to block Virginia from the real truth of what really happened in the home. During the walk through, Virginia picked up a female spirit who was badly hurt. Virginia also felt that this female spirit was named “Patricia” and was very protective of her.

Upstairs-left bedroom: Virginia once again picked up the spirit named Eric who came off at that time as very aggressive. Virginia felt that Eric had done something bad in his past along with using drugs or drinking which caused a negative, non-human entity/shadow person to manifest with Eric. The spirit Eric was trying to keep the female spirit, Patricia quiet.

First floor: Virginia felt that Eric’s father was also present in the home and that the father was very upset about what his son has done and the father’s spirit was at unrest.

Basement: Virginia picked up impressions that many years ago, family pets were badly mistreated in the basement. Virginia also felt that other very bad activities had happened there including Eric’s daughter being repeatedly assaulted in that space. Virginia picked up that there was a lot of movement by the stairs and to the right of the basement towards the door to the outside. While she was present in the basement, Virginia felt the spirit of Eric was pacing back and forth waiting for everyone to go away. Virginia felt that that Eric was attacking the children during their dream state because of their innocence and weakened emotional capacity

Other names that Virginia picked up that were once associated with the property were Nate, Becca, Rose, Robert (Virginia feels was a little boy who died in a fire in the area and visits the whole neighborhood), George Bush,  George, Daniel and a female with an A name who Virginia feels was Eric’s mom.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular date, investigators noted some unusual equipment responses that are not seen on most investigations.  A motion sensor, a RemPod and an EMF meter all reacted in the basement during the investigation but at varying times. After swapping out different equipment along with battery changes to rule out malfunctions, the new equipment reacted in the same fashion. No interior or exterior causes could be located that may have set off the equipment. Prior to the start of the physical investigation, Psychic Medium Virginia Centrillo remarked that she felt a lot of activity in this area and believed we would have some physical activity at some point during the night. This area also contains the electrical box to the home which has been reported to frequently have breakers trip. This could be related to the fluctuating activity our equipment was picking up.  Investigators had very few personal experiences and were not able to rule out any of the claims made by the clients as being caused by normal factors.

Metaphysically, Virginia felt that there were several spirits remaining at this home along with very negative residual energy from years of abuse at this property.  Virginia also believes that the mother and her two children are very open to spiritual energy and may pick up on much of the residual activity as well as the spirits that were there. Virginia recommends that clergy be brought in to bless the home and to give the spirit of Patricia peace and heal the home from the tragedies that occurred there. Virginia also suggests that the owner look up information on Feng Shui convex mirrors because they are believed to have protective qualities. Virginia feels the mirrors should be placed in the front of the house over the door, in the back of the home over the kitchen windows and over the side door and basement door to help ward off stray spirits. Virginia provided information to the client on how to raise and keep the energies up in her home. Virginia recommended books and psychic mentoring to help her and her children with their own psychic abilities. Virginia feels these books will teach the children how to protect themselves, especially before they go to sleep. Virginia felt that she was able to release the spirits that were there but because there were so many years of tragic events that happened at this home, it would take some time to help remove the negative residual energy that was there. From time to time, the family, because they are sensitive to this energy, may pick up on the residual effect of the events that once happened there. Virginia also felt like the little boy she picked up on named Robert, did not belong to the property but would visit from time to time. Virginia stated he appeared briefly then left so she was not able to release him. Robert may visit this home in the future from time to time but is not harmful in any way.

Historical research by PPA Historian Kelly Kalb revealed that one of the previous property owners was named Eric. Canadensis newspaper articles reported that a 67 year old woman named Patricia was found by police tied to her bed at this home, lying in her own waste, covered in bed sores, weighed about 80lbs and was believed to be there for months. She later died in the hospital.  Eric, the homeowner was Patricia’s brother-in-law and caretaker who abused her. He was arrested for the abuse along with another family member.

The PPA will continue to monitor progress at this home and continue to help the clients as needed.
