Location Status:
Two story, federal style home built in 1942 occupied by two adults, one adult daughter, four dogs and two cats.

Reported Activity:
The clients have lived at this location for five years and the activity has been experienced for the same amount of time. The clients report that the activity is sporadic and occurs at any time of the day with no pattern. The family has reported hearing voices, seeing shadows and items go missing. The clients related that they get a feeling in the basement of depression and suffocation, a closed-in kind of feeling and they feel really creeped out near the washer and dryer in the back basement room. The clients have seen an old woman with gray hair wearing a dress and apron at the top of the staircase and the daughter has reported seeing dark shadows and figures coming from her bedroom closet. By having an investigation, the clients are hoping to get rid of any bad energy and to find out who may be there and why.

EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field):
Standard baseline readings were taken throughout the home with expected spikes near electrical appliances. High EMF'S were detected in the basement near the ceiling area in the front room and is believed to be caused by florescent lighting when turned on. Even higher fields were located in the basement, back room in the area of the washer and dryer when the florescent lighting was turned on. Additionally, the washer and dryer are sitting right next to the main power box to the home creating additional high EM Fields in this area. A fluctuating EM Field was also detected in the daughter's bedroom while a meter was sitting stationary on top of a chair near the closet during one of the teams rotations. The filed was not able to be duplicated during later EMF sweeps and the origin could not be pinpointed.

Investigator Feelings / Personal Experiences:
Mark: While sitting with Virginia in the daughter's bedroom on the second floor, Mark observed a black shadow block out ambient light in the closet and move from left to right then disappear. The cause of the black mass could not be determined and a IR video camera pointed right at the closet did not pick up any light fluctuations at that time.

Paul: Observed below experience

Stan: While sitting with Paul in the daughter's bedroom on the second floor, Stan observed fluctuations in EM Fields with a Melmeter that was stationary on a chair sitting in front of the closet. The source of the EM Fields could not be determined.

Virginia: Refer to Psychic Impressions

Psychic Impressions:
When Virginia arrived at the home, she started to pick up impressions of the past history surrounding the area. Virginia encountered many Union soldiers walking the area. A male spirit name McCay was telling Virginia stories about how wild the area was and how they would come in by train and enjoy themselves with women and drink. Virginia also picked up impressions about nearby American Indian spirits who lived by a river. Virginia also picked up that their graves are not far from the client’s home. Virginia’s Impressions included an underground railroad that ran through Harrisburg and that the area where the client’s home sits was called Green Acres at one time.

Note: It is very helpful for Virginia to get impressions outside a residence before entering the home to make sure that what might be outside is or is not contributing to a haunting.

When Virginia began the walk-through of the home she began to pick up on the upstairs, spare bedroom on the left where she felt a negative energy moved between the closet of that room into the closet of the Daughter's bedroom on the other side of the wall. When Virginia walked into the Daughter's bedroom, she felt uncomfortable, like something or someone was sent there and it was watching from that closet. As the walk-through continued, Virginia walked into the master bedroom and felt a strong presence of a woman who was very protective of the female owner of the home. Virginia picked up the name and that this was the owner’s grandmother. The owner confirmed this information. Virginia feels the Grandmother is not trapped, but is there protecting the family because of the activity.

When Virginia left the master bedroom, she felt that someone was watching them from the attic/loft area. When Virginia went up to the attic/loft area, she found a trapped male spirit who would not give Virginia his name. Virginia felt he didn’t want her to know his name in fear of persecution. This male spirit was with his wife, who Virginia felt died from a heart attack. The male spirit appeared to be Earthbound due to his own guilt from a traumatic family situation that he created and could not move on until he spoke with his two sons to request forgiveness. Virginia gave the client very personal and sensitive information along with names of who he wanted to speak to. The client confirmed the names were her husband and brother in-law. This further confirmed that the male spirit was the client's Father-In-Law who was trapped with his wife.

When Virginia walked into the hallway to go back down stairs, she picked up on another female spirit that she felt was trapped because she was very confused. Virginia described the woman to the client as having white hair and the client confirmed that this is what they have been seeing in the hallway. Virginia felt this spirit was harmless and just needed to be re-directed to the light.

When Virginia walked down to the basement she felt sadness but also a steady flow of EMF’S. The sadness Virginia felt, she believed was coming from a residual situation but the high EM Fields were enhancing this overwhelming feeling of sadness in this area.

When Virginia went to the backyard of the home, Virginia picked up a lot of spirit energies coming from the end of the yard where a funeral home is facing the back of the home. Due to the client and her daughter's sensitivity to spirit, the spirits of the funeral home are drawn to them. Virginia also felt that the clients should move a gazing ball located in the back yard away from the funeral home and to another part of the yard.

During the investigation, Virginia kept picking up voices in the dining room that moved into the kitchen. Virginia felt that this was the client's Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law that had passed away and wanted the attention of their son.

As the investigation continued, Virginia and Mark were in the daughter’s room when Mark noticed a shadow in the closet. Virginia sat in a chair in front of the closet when she heard a growl and a few minutes later, felt like she was kicked in leg by this unseen force.

As Virginia continued the investigation, Virginia picked up more names of spirits from the owners previous home, which the owner confirmed. The owner was concerned that those spirits from the previous home had followed her to her present home. Virginia felt that they were not attached to the client but just came by during the investigation to say they were fine and not trapped.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular date, a few personal experiences were noted by investigators such as Mark seeing a black mass movement in a secluded bedroom closet and some intermittent EMF fluctuations in that same area that could not later be replicated. Investigators were able to measure very high EM Fields in many areas of the basement with the most notable area being near the washer and dryer in the back room. Slightly lower but still high EM fields were also detected in the basement work area, near the florescent light in the front room. These elevated electromagnetic fields can certainly cause the types of feelings that the clients are reporting in those areas and should be considered during times when working there and the strange feelings are felt. It is possible that a person may be more hypersensitive to these fields on some days than others. Although the experiences the PPA encountered during this investigation are not enough to conclude by physical means that a haunting is taking place, the experiences do independently back up much of what the clients have reported and a haunting can not be ruled out as well.

From a metaphysical perspective, Psychic Medium Virginia Rose was able to identify the locations of activity the clients were reporting it in, the type of activity and who she believed was there. Through historical research, the PPA confirmed the psychic impressions and names that Virginia provided. Virginia felt that she was able to help release the earthbound woman that the clients were seeing at the top of the stairs in the hallway. Virginia feels that the entity in the daughter's closet was the result of an ex-friend's practice of the dark arts. This was confirmed by the daughter to be true. Virginia and Mark gave specific information on who to contact to help them to reverse that situation. Virginia also suggests that the owners look up information on Feng Shui Convex mirrors because they have protective qualities. Virginia feels they should be placed in the front of the house over the door and to be placed in the back of the home over a door to help ward of stray spirits from the funeral home. Because of all the antiques the owners have in the home, Virginia provided information to them on how to keep up the positive energies in their home. Virginia also gave recommendations on books to help them with their own gifts. Virginia and Mark both spoke with the Husband about his father and feel it is important for the Husband and his brother to sit quietly in the home to resolve their grievances with their deceased father and mother so that their spirits can move on and begin a healing process for all.

After two weeks, the clients have reported a significant reduction in activity and claim the house feels much lighter.
