File No: 12-06-094

Location:  Greenlane, PA - Montgomery County

Investigation Date and Duration:
March 2, 2012 7:30 PM – 1:00 AM

Location Status:
Occupied two story, federal style colonial house built in 1747 occupied by two adults, two dogs and children on the weekend. The land is Unami Lenape Native American ground with documented Indian rock shelters. There used to be two mills on the property that were active in the 1700-1800's. Rocks were quarried for Philadelphia Cobblestone Roads from the creek and boulder field.

Reported Activity:
The client's have reported that their animals growl and hiss and seem to follow things they cannot see. The animals have also been somehow let out of the house, hurt and locked in rooms on different occasions. The client's 15 year old daughter and the client have been physically attacked along with two paranormal investigators from a prior investigation by another team. Furniture has moved on it's own, voices have been heard, the client's have captured a man in a dark hat in two photos taken at different times. The clients have also heard stomping, screaming, Native American Drumming and flute playing. The clients sometimes hear the kitchen table and chairs being scraped across the floor downstairs when they are upstairs. The chairs and table are original to the house. The client reported that she has been attacked/touched while sleeping. Her husband reported that she was talking in her sleep to a soldier. The client's foot was grabbed and her toes were bent back causing great pain. The client has also been bitten and scratched. The clients' kids are afraid to come to this home and sleep in their rooms when they visit. By having an investigation, the clients are hoping to have the dark, negative entity removed but are quite comfortable with the many positive spirits they believe are present.

: Nothing to report
Nicole:
Nothing to report
Virginia:
Refer to Psychic Impressions

Psychic Impressions:
Before Virginia entered the home, she was greeted by a spirit named “Thomas”. This spirit gave Virginia information on what was going on in the home along with some past history of the home and property. Virginia felt Thomas was the original owner of the home. Thomas told Virginia about graves of past owners on the property and about American Indians who camped out on and near the property. Virginia also feels there can possibly be some American Indian graves there as well. Thomas gave Virginia the names of the people who currently live in the home, which were confirmed by the owners and even the nicknames of their pets and family members plus a couple of neighbor’s names. One of the nick names Thomas gave Virginia was “Pokeman”. Thomas could have been trying to tell Virginia about the Perkiomen creek nearby but the client’s pet’s nickname is also “Pokeman”. The next name Virginia received from Thomas was “Duke”. Duke is the nickname of the father of the owner of the home. Thomas could also have been talking about the Duke of Marlborough who the township was named after and where this dwelling resides. Thomas spoke about a powder mill and an oil mill. Thomas also told Virginia about his farm and how many acres he owned. Thomas spoke to Virginia about an underground railroad that went through the property. Virginia also picked up on a hanging that could have possibly happened in the home or on the property.

The names that Virginia received from “Thomas” of people who were or are now connected to the home in some way, were confirmed by PPA Historian, Kelly Kalb. Kelly also helped piece the names with the occupations that Virginia received. “John” - Virginia felt that his last name was Yoke or Yost and he owned a wagon/carriage business. “J. Fries”, “William” - there were a couple of Williams involved with the property. “Edward” - was the current owner of the home's Grandfather, “Andrew”, “Jacob”, “Joseph”, “Samuel”, “George” and a last name of “Schell” or “Schull”., “May” or “Mayberry”. Virginia also picked up two women name “Elizabeth” that also lived in the home, “Sarah”, “Anne” and “Susan” which is the name of the owner's Mother.

As Virginia began the investigation with Mark, she immediately felt a strong male presence by the front door. The male made sure to let Virginia know he was not too pleased with what was going on by stomping his feet behind Virginia making a loud slam. Virginia also picked up a little girl moving through the home. Virginia felt that this little girl was attached to the female owner, that was later confirmed by the owner and what she already believed for herself. Virginia felt there was activity in the entire home; from the basement where the Underground Railroad was located and where Virginia felt some slaves still moving around, to the attic, where Virginia felt a presence of a red coat soldier name Francis. In one corner of the basement, Virginia picked up a very mean energy. Virginia felt this energy was a male who was trying to harm the slaves. Virginia felt the name of this male to be “Jack” or “Jake”. In the first floor kitchen and living room areas, Virginia was picking up on a man and a woman. Virginia felt the woman loved the kitchen and did quilting near the fireplace. The man loved to stay by the fireplace in the living room, smoking a pipe. The client confirmed activity in both places and the smell of pipe smoke. In the master bedroom, Virginia picked up on a man with very piercing eyes looking through the mirror. Virginia saw the man’s image come through the mirror and believes this is the same man that met her at the front door when she first walked in. Virginia also feels this man is very attached to the female owner because he knows she can see him but he feels she is invading his space. Virginia also picked up that this man was a soldier; also confirmed by the owner's belief and experiences. Virginia felt the spirits loved to play with the lights, turning them on and off. Virginia felt there was some residual energy present as well, at this location, that moves in and out of home and around the property.

Conclusion:
During the investigation on this particular date, the home was relatively quiet and no personal experiences were noted by investigators. Investigators worked on several claims in an attempt to find normal causes for activity the clients were reporting but no alternative reasons could be found. No video evidence was documented but one EVP was recorded in the kitchen. The EVP sounded like a woman's voice and seemed to back up the information provided by psychic-medium Virginia Centrillo that a woman liked to hang-out and was present in the kitchen area. Based solely on a physical investigation, there is not enough information on this one particular investigation by The PPA to rule out or confirm a haunting is taking place, however the EVP that was recorded by The PPA is one more small piece of information that the owners can add to previous evidence collected along with their own experiences for later evaluation with future events.

From a metaphysical perspective, Virginia picked up on much of the activity being reported by the clients. Virginia believes there is both a residual and interactive haunting occurring at this location. Most of the information Virginia reported was corroborated by historical research and the experiences of the clients as well as their knowledge of the property that further backs up their suspicions of a haunting.

Virginia, with the help of the PPA, worked on clearing the basement of whatever was left of the slaves that were once present. Virginia feels this will take a while and Virginia’s spirit guide, named Betsy, stayed behind to complete the mission of crossing the spirits.

Because of both owner’s family's historical connection to the property along with the wife’s spiritual gifts of her own, Virginia feels that the owners connections to this home is very important and feels the owner’s respect to the spirits of the past keep the history as well as the spirits alive here. Simply put, the owners are the caretakers of the history and the spirits at this location.

The PPA does not feel there is anything demonic in the home or attached to the property at this time. Because the house is over 300 years old and many lives have passed through this property and because the current owners own an abundant amount of antiques associated with the history of this home and the community, Virginia provided proper information to the owners on how to keep up positive energies and how to negate negative energies. Virginia feels it is imperative for the wife to continue developing and practicing her gift so she will understand what and who is coming in and out of her home when the activity happens. The PPA also recommends caution to the owners to be careful who they are calling upon so as not to attract any negative entities.
