Investigation Report

This is a two story residence with a full walk in attic and basement occupied by two adults, three children and one dog.

Claims of activity include seeing black mass like figures, apparitions of a man, an older woman and a little girl. The family has heard voices and has had the feeling that they were being touched. The family reports that their dog will start sniffing around and then start growling and barking at unseen objects. Doors have been seen opening and closing by themselves and the sound of footsteps have been heard with no one present to make them. It has been reported that one of the children has the ability to sense and speak with whatever spirits may be there and they are disturbing her in her sleep waking her up at night. The family also reports a sense of uneasiness in the basement. Bangs and knocks have been reported above the 2nd floor rear bedroom and attic areas while no one is present in those areas.

- At 10:20PM, this device captured three knocks and an EVP that sounds like a male voice followed by an unknown sound. All investigators were present in the command center at this time and no one was present on this floor.

VR2 (Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in floor living room) At 9:21PM, this device recorded one faint knock from a series of knocks that investigators heard from the 1st floor living room and commented on the noise thinking it was Lauren and Bob in the attic. Lauren and Bob were observed on video at this time sitting quietly on the attic floor and not moving. Sound tests ruled out outside contamination. One knock out of the several that investigators heard can be heard at 13 seconds into this clip.

VR3 (Digital Voice Recorder: 2nd floor middle bedroom) At 8:55PM, this recorder captured an EVP of what sounds like a little girls voice talking in between Paulette speaking and trying to elicit a response from someone. Sound tests ruled out outside contamination. The voice can be heard starting at 24 seconds.

VR4 (Digital Voice Recorder: Stationary in 2nd floor front bedroom) At 10:20PM, this device captured an EVP that sounds like a male voice followed by an unknown sound that was also captured by VR1. All investigators were present in the command center at this time and no one was present on this floor. The sound is nearly the same volume as the sound recorded on VR1. Sound tests ruled out outside contamination.

Standard baseline readings were taken throughout the building with expected spikes near electrical appliances. Sustained elevated levels were measured in the basement at the bottom of the stairs from electrical equipment and surrounding the fish tank in the living room. No anomalous EMF’S detected.

Mark and Lauren – At PM. Mark and Lauren were sitting on the attic floor and felt a hard thump on the floor. No noise knocks or bangs were heard along with the thump. This occurred just seconds after Bob reported the family dog started acting a little strange like he does just before activity starts, as reported by the client, who were both watching him on the DVR system.

Paulette and Rob – Paulette and Rob were sitting in the middle 2nd floor bedroom and were asked to leave that room to video the family dog when Bob reported him acting strangely. They returned to this room within a minute and reported a noticeably colder condition tan when they left which returned to a normal temperature shortly thereafter.

Bob and Paulette – Heard what they believed to be footsteps causing the 2nd floor hallway to creek while they were sitting in the 2nd floor front bedroom.

During the several hours spent at this location, investigators had a few personal experiences with the most interesting being a series of events that took place right around 11:05pm in which Bob had reported from command that the client commented on how the family dog was beginning to act strange as he does just before activity starts in the house. Upon calling Paulette and Rob out of a second floor bedroom to video the actions of the dog, they returned to a noticeably colder room that warmed back up within minutes. During this time, Mark and Lauren were sitting on the attic floor and felt a very strong thump from the floor with no sound heard. Earlier in the night, Paulette and Rob, who also were in the attic at that time, heard a loud metallic sounding knock against a brick wall in the attic. Creaking noises were also heard by investigators in the hallway on the second floor. These events seem to validate the family’s reports that noises are being heard in the home and the walls feel like they heave at times. There seems to be some movement of the home along with many noises that may be related or unrelated to the movement. The cause can not be determined at this time.

An EVP was recorded on the second and third floors with the same amount of volume to both recordings. Outside voices had been faintly observed throughout the night in these rooms but the strength and volume were no where near the consistency of those recorded and in all cases when the voices were heard, no distinguishable words could be made out due to the low volume. The recorders at that time did not even pick those voices up they were of such a low volume. The recorded voice appears to be coming from inside the residence and at the volume it was recorded at, investigators should have heard it audibly but the sound was not heard at the time it was recorded. A second EVP of an apparent young girl further validates the family’s reports of activity.

Upon entering the basement area, high EMF levels were present at the base of the stairs and strong enough that someone sensitive to these fields may get a creepy feeling when entering the basement and may explain the feelings of being watched in that area.

The doors that have been reported opening or closing by themselves were found to shut secure enough that it takes some effort to open them or push them far enough in to secure. The noted movement of the house may be enough to unlatch a door from its shut position but it would have to be a substantial shift and still does not explain the doors opening or closing ll the way and the cause of the movement of the house is still undetermined. There is enough free flowing air in the home to prevent a vacuum effect that would cause the air to close or open a door so the cause was not anything that could be determined as natural at this time. Several recordings of knocks and bangs above the normal house noise were obtained with many of the noises audibly heard by investigators but causes remain unknown.

It appears that there is paranormal activity occurring at this location so at the family’s request, ThePPA consulted with psychic medium Lauri Moore. Lauri related that she felt there were two men in the residence and a young girl among other spirits who seem to come and go. The family confirmed this was similar to what they were experiencing. After the physical investigation was completed, Lauri related that she was able to help cross most of the spirits over and the family has reported a noticeable decrease in the activity. ThePPA will continue to monitor the home and any further activity.
